Some representatives of Georgia’s neighboring country, Armenia , often try to present Georgian cultural products as their own. This is often a source of controversy between two friendly nations. However, those facts have never become a reason for wider conflict as Georgians try to look at all this humorously.
Recently, a musical score written by a famous Georgian composer, Zakaria Paliashvili for his well-known opera “Daisi”, has been presented as part of Armenian culture. It was spread on YouTube as
‘Armenian Wedding Dance’ performed by Gevorkian Dance Academy in USA.
The reaction of Georgian internet users is unanimous. Everybody agrees that this dance as well as music is Georgian and by presenting them as Armenian, our neighbors try to misinform the audience.
