Georgia's lady winemaker - Baia’s wines already on sale
New Year's table is unimaginable without delicious national dishes and, of course, a bottle of Georgian wine. Georgia is a real heaven for wine lovers, since it offers a big variety of different kinds of wine starting with white and ending with red or orange wines ,be it homemade or produced by different local brands. Yet another new wine brand named Baia’s wine produced by 22-year-old lady winemaker has appeared on the
shelves of some of the wine shops in Tbilisi. Baia Abuladze is the youngest lady in Georgia who dared to take up winemaking and produce her own wine. Baia has already produced Tsitsa-Tsolikouri,( White, Dry ) sort of wine that at present can be found in two shops - Maghazia Gagarinze (Shop on Gagarini street) and in Drunk octopus.

Baia and her family generally produce dry wines, since the micro-climate in their home village of Obcha is perfect for them: “We mainly have white dry and semi-dry wines here. Most of them are made from Tsolikauri grapes, since they are most widespread in our area. By the way, some books on winemaking also call them Obchura, which means ‘from Obcha’ in Georgian,” young entrepreneur explains.
