Top 10 biggest employer companies in Georgia
Georgia's economically active population, or labor force, is about 2 million people and according to the National Statistics Service, 12% of them are unemployed. The country’s biggest companies employ approximately 10 000 people.

"Businesspressnews" offers you to take a look at the top 10 companies, which, according to the 2016 data, are the main employers in Georgia.

Evex Medical Corporation

Evex occupies one of the leading positions in this respect. The company carries out a wide range of activities in specialized hospitals and the number of people employed is 10 700.

Energo-Pro Georgia

This is another large company and it employs 5 582 individuals.

EPG thinks one of the significant achievements of the company is the "rules of employment and career development", according to which, any vacant position is filled by individuals from lower ranking public officials.

Tbilservice Group

This company employs 4 800 people. It provides cleaning and sweeping, collecting household wastes, maintenance of parks and street lighting networks, as well as underground passages and fountains among other technical services.

"The small part of our employees, about 200 people, is engaged in the office activities. Others are providing a variety of technical services. Accordingly,
for us it is a little difficult to take care of the career growth of our employees. However, to the possible extent, we are determined to help them. Staff safety is protected as much as possible ", - the first deputy Director General, David Dolidze says.

Nikora

This is a meat producing company that employs 3 734 individuals at the moment.

Georgian Post

Another large company that employs 2 857 people.

United water supply company of Georgia


2 665 people are employed here. Zaza Sikharulidze, the Director-General, says trainings are carried out systematically at the expense of the company as well as with the help of international donors.


Geo Hospitals

Major employers include "Geo Hospitals", which employs 2 500 workers. Founded in 2011, its clinics and medical centers are in the 5 regions: Lower Kartli, Imereti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kakheti.

Other companies in the top ten are as follows: "Aversi-Pharma", "Tbilisi Transport Company", "Georgian Railway" and "Georgian Manganese".
