‘August war was a great game’ - Mikheil Saakashvili’s former American adviser
The August war was a great game, Mikheil Saakashvili’s former American adviser Jeffrey Silverman says in his interview with the ‘Kvela Siakhle’ newspaper.
“During the August war, I was in Tskhinvali, watching the events and wrote a report that had been sent to Matthew Bryza. They were not classified materials, just a journalistic study. Matthew Bryza was aware of an eventual scenario of the Georgian-Russian war in 2005. Two months before the war, I knew that the war would be
unleashed from the American organizations “Kubik” and
”Archengel” (private companies established by former militaries). When David Kezerashvili was the Minister of Defense, these companies had been hired to assist in military planning and training. They were located at the Military Base in Vaziani. The group of snipers, trained by “Archengel”, was fighting in Tskhinvali. Honestly, it was not a war but a great game. In particular, the military command and control has been turned off. Georgia could win this war, but it was not done specifically”, says Jeffrey Silverman.
