Donald Tusk tweets in Georgian after the meeting with Georgian PM
The President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, has tweeted in Georgian. He published the link to his official speech made during his meeting with Georgian Prime Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili: ‘European Union and Georgia – Real Partners. The speech made after meeting with the Prime Minister’, he tweets in Georgian.

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili is in Brussels, Belgium.

The visit began with meeting the president of European Council, after which, Kvirikashvili and Tusk made joint statements for media.

In Tusk’s words, he and Kvirikashvili discussed several issues, including upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia and emphasized the importance of free and pluralistic media environment.

Donald Tusk said that the ongoing judicial reforms, as well as the rule of law and human rights are the most important priorities for Georgia.

He also said the issue of visa liberalization was discussed during the meeting. Tusk added that Georgia has fulfilled all the conditions for the European Union to impose visa free regime for Georgian citizens.

The EU will continue to support the territorial integrity of Georgia, as it has done before, Tusk stated.

He also said that EU shares Georgia’s concern over the so-called agreement that the official Moscow signed with secessionist regimes of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
