Georgian TV presenter’s teenage daughter falls from the 5-th floor
14-year-old Eva Barbakadze, the daughter of a well-known TV presenter, Shorena Begashvili, accidentally fell from the 5th floor of a residential house.

As was told by a witness, the incident happened when Eva Barbakadze’s friends were visiting her at her apartment. Eva was sitting on the window, when suddenly she overbalanced and fell from the 5th floor.

At first she was rushed to the Republican Hospital and then transferred to the Iashvili Clinic. A witness, who accompanied Eva Barbakadze to the hospital, says the 14-year-old was bleeding and had unbearable pain in her neck.

The doctors say Barbakadze’s condition is stable but serious. As Imedi TV was yesterday told by Iashvili Clinic’s director, Vano Chkhaidze, the surgical operation will be performed shortly.

‘As a result of falling from high altitude, the patient suffers from numerous and very serious injuries. At the moment she is at the neurosurgical
department, under the supervision of a traumatic surgeon. As a result of additional analysis, we have established the quality and exact places of injuries. Tomorrow, the surgical operation will be performed, first by a neurosurgeon and then by traumatic surgeon’.

Eva has spinal injuries as well as broken thigh-bones.

‘The spinal problems are the most important and tomorrow we will begin with that’, Vano Chkhaidze says.

At first, it was considered that the patient should be transferred to Turkey, but Mr. Chkhaidze says these kinds of injuries are treated successfully at Iashvili Clinic.

At 12:00 today, the first surgical operation will be carried out to solve the spinal problems.

After that, it will be possible to decide whether two more traumatic surgeries are appropriate to perform today. reports that the 14-year-old is communicative, is able to talk and eat, as well as move her legs.

An incident happened on Gogebashvili Street in Tbilisi on March 26.
