More and more Georgian alternative musical bands are emerging on the scene. Orion is a band of young Georgian musicians who are in the process of establishing themselves on Georgian as well as foreign market. The group already has many fans who appreciate their music and the ones who have not heard about these young enthusiastic musicians yet, have an opportunity to listen and get acquainted with the band and their songs. Beqa Minadze, the lead singer of Orion talked to Georgian journal about the band and their future plans.
“The band Orion was founded in 2015 in Tbilisi. We named our band Orion after prominent constellation located on the celestial equator and visible throughout the world. Since originally we mainly focused on psychedelic and space rock, we thought this name will suit and reflect the genre we play. Even though none of the group members is under the influence of any particular musical genre, our music assigns to Progressive/Indie/electro rock, yet it also incorporates certain details from different types of music. We view music as a form of art and a way to express yourself rather than as an entirely commercial product. We are independent musicians free of any labels and producers.

We have just released our new album that includes 11 songs. It is hard to single out one song, yet based on the views and the feedback received from our listeners Shades Of Nights and Lunatic Asylum are most popular
songs. As for our future plans, we are going to hold a presentation of the new album and then we will start actively delivering concerts. The main priority of Orion is to enter European market”, - The lead singer of Orion told Georgian Journal.
Here we present one of the hits of Orion, Shades Of Nights, so you can listen and enjoy. One can also listen to the band’s live performances at various bars, pubs and clubs in Tbilisi.
