Georgian judoka Avtandil Tchrikishvili wins the Paris Grand Slam 2016
Georgian judoka in 81 kg category, Avtandil Tchrikishvili has become the winner of Paris Grand Slam tournament. In final match, Tchrikishvili defeated Bulgarian Ivailo Ivanov with Waza-ari and took the gold medal.

time in a row and became the second Georgian judoka in history, after Varlam Liparteliani, who did it.

As for Liparteliani, who wrestled in 90 kg category, this time he won the bronze medal by defeating French Ludovic Gobert in a third-place match.

Apart from that, two Georgian judokas took fifth places – Nugzar Tatalashvili (73 kg) and Levan Matiashvili (100+), which means that the Georgian team took fifth place overall and fourth place among men.
