Russian cellist dedicates a famous Georgian song to his mother
26 June, 2015
Russian cellist Ian Maksin, who is literally in love with Georgia , plays a unique version of a traditional Georgian song "Patara Qalo" in Chicago, along with Serbo-Croation guitarist Goran Ivanovic Trio.

“Beautiful song from Georgia "Patara Qalo" (Little Woman). Georgian culture is one of the most ancient, most be
autiful and at the same time most under-represented ones in the world. I would like to dedicate this to my mom who lived in Tbilisi, capital of Georgia when she was a little girl and who introduced me to Georgian culture through photos, stories, and of course, music,” the cellist comments on the video.
