Macy Gray closes Batumi Jazz Festival with a grandiose show

American soul star Macy Gray ended the most large-scale festival on the Black Sea coast, the 10th Black Sea Jazz Festival on July 24, in the frames of Check in Georgia project.

Macy Gray was born on 6 September, 1976. She is a singer, composer, actress and producer famous for her characteristic voice and performing style. She has recorded six albums; was nominated for Grammys five times and has become a winner once, with her song “I try“, which has g
one one to become a world hit. Macy Gray has participated in several movies, including Training Day, Spider-Man, Scary Movie 3, Lackawanna Blues, Idlewild, For Colored Girls.

The Black Sea Jazz Festival opened on July 15, with the concert of 27 time Grammy winner and one of the most important and influential musicians of the 20th century, Quincy Jones who presented his new project called QUINCY JONES & THE GLOBAL GUMBO ALL STARS (feat. Richard Bona, Alfredo Rodriguez, Jacob Collier); In the frames of the festival, the Georgian music lovers saw other stars like: Miles Electric Band, Lauryn Hill, Prodigy, Jamie Cullum and others; The movie called Miles Ahead was also screened.

The 10th anniversary festival traditionally hosted world famous musicians and was held at the Batumi Tennis Club as well as other locations around the city.

The people of Batumi as well as the tourists had the opportunity to listen to Brass Band, who performed at the boulevard all day long, for free. Apart from foreign musicians, Georgian performers have also held concerts at Batumi colonnades.
