From now on 20th century progressive Georgian artist Petre Otskheli’s masterpieces can be seen at Google Cultural Institute
which is the biggest virtual association in the world that incorporates the artworks of world famous artists around the world. Georgia’s Art Palace is the first Georgian museum that has become the member of the association. Within the frames of agreement Georgia’s Art Palace will be able to upload the examples of Georgia’s national heritage to the website, where the masterpieces by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Caravaggio and Van Gogh are already presented. Thanks to this global project, people around the world will be able to get acquainted world’s most distinguished artworks including Georgian masterpieces’ by such artists as Gigo Gabashvili, Lado Gudiashvili, Elene Akhvlediani, Davit Kakabadze, Sergo Kobuladze of different periods. Petre Otskheli is one of the leading and most remarkable Georgian artists of 2Oth century who has left a significant trace in Georgian culture, arts and theatrical arts. Even though, this theatrical wunderkind’s life was too short (1907-1937), like many geniuses he still managed to leave a priceless cultural heritage to Georgia as well as to the rest of the world. The young artist’s progressive and modernist vision as well as skillful use of geometrical shapes in his works with art deco and expressionist elements distinguishes him from other artist of that time.
