A documentary film project by Georgian film director Rati Tsiteladze, written by Nino Varsimashvili, was selected to participate
in the 17th edition of the East European Forum which will take place within the East Doc Platform in Prague, March 6-12, 2017.
Tsiteladze's documentary is one of the nine selected projects that were carefully picked from more than a hundred of international projects. Together with a co-producer Nino Varsimashvili, Tsiteladze will partake in round tables, individual meetings and public pitching in front of the most important decision makers and film industry representatives from all over the world.
East Doc Platform (EDP) is the largest Central and East European documentary event. More than 100 key international producers, festival programmers, distributors, sales agents, film fund representatives will be able to choose from the most promising films and projects. The event is organized by the Institute of Documentary Film in association with the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.
In his director-driven documentary film, the filmmaker Rati Tsiteladze takes us on a cultural journey into the heart of Post-Soviet Georgia. He tries to find answers to several fragile subjects that are still taboo in modern society. He explores the gap between tradition and modernity, theology and everyday life which raises evocative questions about culture and the price of being yourself.
The Project was also selected at Docedge Kolkata India which takes place from February 27 to March 5. Docedge Kolkata is attended by some of the most noted documentary makers from across the globe along with foundations and broadcasters.
With this project, Rati has already participated at the world's largest documentary film festival 29th edition of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) with a personal invitation from the founder Ally Derks and won the main prize at one of the biggest film festival in South Korea, DMZ International Documentary Film Festival.
The documentary is produced by ArtWay Film production.
