Georgian winetasting held in Amsterdam

Georgian wine tasting was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Local sommeliers, journalists and wine writers attended the event.

12 wines were presented at the tasting in Amsterdam. Different sorts of wines produced by following companies were displayed: Gotsa Wines, Telavi Wine Cellar, Schuchmann Wines Georgia, Bagrationi 1882, Koncho & Company and Tbilvino. The sommeliers examined how various types of Georgian wines pair with food.

Dutch sommeliers sampled a variety of wines and matched them with different dishes. Satrapezo Saperavi Qvevri 2014
(Telavi Wine Cellar) paired with wild goose dish came in the first place.

According to the head of Marketing and Public Relations Department of National Wine Agency Irakli Cholobargia, based on international tendencies and statistics of wine consumption, the Dutch market is quite promising for Georgian wine exports.

"Sommeliers from Western Europe have a great interest in our wines but they need to explore our country. In the aftermath of winetasting, Dutch Association of Sommeliers selected best sommeliers to visit Georgia in September. We are happy to cooperate with the Dutch guild of sommeliers which has a serious interest in our wines", - Irakli Cholobargia noted.

In 2017 National Wine Agency signed a contract with a Dutch company "Saperavi Wine Agency", which imports Georgian wine and implements various activities to promote Georgian wine in the Netherlands.
