The International Black Sea Folk Festival offers a unique opportunity to demonstrate the world folklore
Enjoy the World Folklore's unique aspects and become a part of the festival. "24 ensembles, up to 400 participants and over 9000 spectators on the Black Sea Arena, are the result of the "International Black Sea Folk Festival" tradition.

Black Sea International Folk Festival, hosted by Black Sea coast, will last for three days and will unite the folk music of 7 countries. Apart from Guria, the events will be held in Adjara as well. Concerts will be held in
Batumi on August 31 and in Ureki on September 1, the final gala concert will be held on September 2 at the Black Sea Arena in the Great Concert Hall.

Spanish, Italian, Polish, Ukrainian, Armenian, Turkish and Georgian folk ensembles will be presented to the audience to show unique folk traditions, singing and dances of their countries. As the Folklore State Center notes, this year the Diplomatic Corps will officially support the festival. Namely these are Italy, Turkey, Poland and Ukraine embassies. With their efforts and support, the number of folklore ensembles increased. According to the organizers, this year's concerts will be even more impressive and diverse.

The importance of the festival, promoting the folklore and its popularization was discussed by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Georgia:

"It's a wonderful festival. Folklore - this is exactly what Ukrainians and Georgians are united by. We have a long relationship and this festival gives us a unique opportunity to demonstrate Ukrainian folklore and culture. This year Ukraine presents a folk ensemble from Crimea. Georgia is constantly supporting us. Parts of our territories are occupied by Russia. The representative group of our country has a symbolic significance: they are from Crimea, which has been occupied by Russia since 2014. This fact should remind the world that Georgia and Ukraine are the best partners for the EU and the girls who dance and sing, regardless of occupation, feel themselves Ukrainian and hope for a better future. These kinds of events will also facilitate deepening of relationships between people. This year more than 117,000 Ukrainians visited Georgia, while at the same time more than 70 000 visitors from Georgia were in Ukraine. The friendship between us continues. I wish success to all participants and let us enjoy the world folklore together".

The diversity and uniqueness of the festival was also discussed by the ambassador of Turkey in Georgia Zeki Levent Gümrükçü.

"I am happy to participate in the International Black Sea Folk Festival for the second time. I am sure that Turkish folklore ensemble will make a very big impression on Georgians. I am counting days and can’t wait for the festival to begin. I want to hear music and see dances of different countries, including Georgian folk groups.

Turks and Georgians have a lot of things in common, we are neighbors, share our traditions and culture and we love our folk dances. Turkey is a big country and that is why we will present the folk culture from various parts of the country. Our strength and wealth will be presented at the event. The festival is a big step not only for the Black Sea basin but also internationally. I am sure it will be a great event for the participants. Let us enjoy the world of folklore and culture with unique aspects and become part of it. What can I tell Georgians and the country's guests: Let us go together at the Black Sea International Folk Festival!"

The International Black Sea Folk Festival will be organized by the initiative of the Folklore State Center of Georgia. The event will be held by the support of Black Sea Arena, Ministry of Culture and Ozurgeti Municipality, in the framework of Check-In Georgia program. Spaniards promise a fiery show at the gala concert, which will be held on September 2. During the festival, the best folk teams from Poland, Ukraine, Armenia, Turkey and Italy will join. All of this, of course, will me mixed with Georgian polyphony and fiery dances.
