The first wind power plant is being built in Gori, Georgia.
At this point, in order to install the turbines of “Kartli” power plant, in Gori Municipality, the appropriate platforms are being prepared.
“Currently, the foundation is being laid for the last turbine. The wings and generators were delivered two days ago and on August 5-6 we're waiting for the tower.
Their construction will begin on August 23, - the Chairman of the Board of Directors in ‘Kartli Wind Power’ company” Tornike Kazarashvili says.
He also stated that the installed capacity of Gori wind power plant is 20.7 MW. It generates 88 million kWh of electricity, which is quite enough for satisfying about 18 to 20 thousand families.
The project is funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Bank by 24 million dollars.
