Leading Swiss rail company to build carriage-building and repair factory Tbilisi

Swiss Stadler Rail AG, a global leader in rolling stock manufacturing headquartered in Bussnang, Switzerland, will build a rolling stock manufacturing and repair facility in Tbilisi.

Stadler’s President Peter Spuhler met with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Tbilisi to inform him about the company’s decision about building a subsidiary, production of rolling stock, and relevant works planned.

subway. Depending on technical and commercial considerations, the factory may export its products.

Stadler Rail AG, also known as Stadler Rail Group, is a Swiss manufacturer of railway rolling stock, with an emphasis on regional train multiple units and trams. Stadler Rail is also focused on niche products and is one of the last European manufacturers of rack railway rolling stock. The holding company consists of eight subsidiaries with locations in Algeria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary and Belarus.
