Minister of Economy says most direct foreign investments was made in Georgia in 2017

According to the statement of the First Vice Premier and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, the maximum amount of direct foreign investments was made in Georgia in 2017.

According to Statistical Office, the volume of direct foreign investments carried out in 2017 was 1 861.9 mln. and increased by 16.2 percent (259.1 million US dollars) compared with the previous year.

According to Dimitri Kumsishvili, this indicator is the historic maximum of direct foreign investments; the highest rate
was USD 1 818 million in 2014, which was less by 44 million USD (2.4%) than the foreign investments in 2017.
