Georgia's foreign trade turnover increased by 16.3 % in January-February

Georgia's foreign trade turnover increased by 16.3 % in January-February of 2018 y/y, according to the preliminary figures released by the state statistics office, Geostat.

According to Geostat, External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 1 683.5 million in January-February 2018 (preliminary data), 16.3 percent higher year-on-year.

The value of export increased by 25.5 percent

The value of export increased by 25.5 percent reaching USD 446.4 million, while the import grew by 13.3 percent and amounted
to USD 1 237.1 million. The trade deficit equaled USD 790.7 million and its share in trade turnover constituted 47.0 percent.
