Scarlet Sales Bar Features Crazy Tandem Show
Musician Nukri Abashidze created four compositions especially for him – Chibo Extrovert, Fire Woman, Jazz Time and Cool Party. Since then, Kakha Sarajishvili uses nickname Chibo Extrovert by which he presented himself to the modern audience at Scarlet Sales Bar on May 22. He gave the performance that was titled ‘It Can Be a Dream“ with the healthy slogan ‘No to drugs, No to Smoking’. Similar parties may become frequent, if this one proves successful.
These were the performances without
text, totally based on improvisation. The topics are various, like I love you, butterfly, etc. The protagonist always knows what he is up to but he never ever figures out beforehand how he will do it – this is an incompatible thing for jazz.
The idea came from the founders of Scarlet Sales Bar, located on 25 Leselidze Street. The motto ‘No to drugs, no to smoking’ also belongs to them. “I had the idea to arrange the poetry soiree that would be accompanied by jazz performance with my vocal improvisations without instruments,” Kakha (Chibo) confessed.
This interesting person who sings, plays, dances and writes poetry, has found a soul sister - Tini Sagharadze, singer, actress, writer and director, who is his partner in the project and sang very beautifully the French songs later on. Georgian Journal talked to her too before the concert-performance: “Our soiree is totally based on improvisation. Nobody knows what will happen– it is meant to be interactive, consisting of Karaoke, as well as recitals and dancing from the party of the audience, etc”.
The gathered public saw the recital of the poetry, listened to the French chansons sung by Tini Sagharadze, and distracted from everyday life by trying to go back to their childhood, which was the main goal of the event – to retell the story as if seen in a dream where everything is so beautiful and simple, just like in our sweet memories of being kids.
Chibo who admits that he bears his namesake coffee’s energy and a soul of an extrovert, was a free listener at Boston University, US, where he hardly let his roommates sleep, always ready to imitate different instruments. He offered the themes of Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau, imitated Mike Jackson’s dances etc. He is a rare mix of different art, alive mechanism that can produce almost anything, somebody full of spontaneity. One should expect from Chibo anything on this respectful earth. Chibo Extrovert has a classical background, but now specializes in jazz beat-boxing. He wakes up, surrounded by birds’ singing and accompanies them by respective imitation every morning.
