“I recall…”
Nani Bregvadze, a unique performer and legend of Georgian musical culture who remains untouched by time and age, recorded her first album in Georgia. With the financial support of PSP and TBC Bank, Bravo Records released a historic album that includes twelve famous songs sung by Nani Bregvadze in her carrier and became legendary. Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection and Tbilisi Centre of Cultural Events supported the project. The songs were given a new life in the hands of
Nikoloz Rachveli and his orchestra.
The “I Recall” album includes songs of famous Georgian composers such as Revaz Laghidze, Bidzina Kvernadze, Gia Kancheli, Vazha Azarashvili, Giorgi Tsabadze, Marika Kvaliashvili, etc.
“Ms. Bregvadze is the greatest treasure of Georgian nation. PSP has honor to support her first album recorded in Georgia. The album has a unique form and design: it looks like an old photo album with memorable, interesting and important photographs from the Nani’s musical career. The last page includes the musical CD album with twelve best songs of the Georgian diva.
Nani Bregvadze: “I am happy and honored by the opportunity to collaborate with the best artists of our time. Their refined art requires high quality of performance and I feel responsible till today to maintain high class, especially when songs are created especially for me. I try to reconsider my repertoire as time goes and try to express my emotions in a new way. This is the only way to thank everyone who influenced my art and especially, my listener, who always used to treat me with loyalty and love.”
Zaza Shangelia, president of Musical Business Company Bravo Records told Georgian Journal: “It sounds unbelievable but this is the only solo album of Nani Bregvadze recorded in Georgia. The album includes all Georgian songs of Georgian classics created by composers Giorgi Tsabadze, Revaz Laghidze, Bidzina Kvernadze and others. The Georgian listener will enjoy absolutely new sounding of songs, courtesy of Nikoloz Rachveli.”
Q. When will the album presentation take place?
A. On 4 October, Funicular Restaurant will host the closed presentation of the album. It is not a commercial but limited edition of the album. The commercial one will see the light in several months. The album also includes several duets together with Eka Mamladze and Nataliko Kutateladze.
