Georgian opera singer wins top prize in Italy

Nana Dzidziguri, a Georgian opera singer, became the winner of a prestigious 54th International Competition named Verdi Voices in Italy on June 25. The young operatic mezzo-soprano performed a piece from the famous Italian classical opera Un Ballo in Maschera and deserved the highest evaluation of the judges.

Her performance impressed both the judges as well as the audience. As the winner of the competition, Georgian singer was awarded with €10,000. Italy's Clarissa Costanzo together with South Korea's Cho Byongick
came in the second place while the third place was granted to Keng Li from Taiwan.

The competition took place on June 20-26 under the patronage of the President of the Italian Republic. The Verdi Voices competition has helped many stars and opera singers throughout the world to build successful careers and earn world fame.
