HEADACHE- Joint exhibition revealing key problems of Georgian reality
19 May, 2017
Art has always been a magic mirror that reflects the life and makes people think about certain issues. Two Georgian friends and artists Giorgi Gagoshidze, mostly known by his nickname Gagosh, and Lasha Babuadze, AFOUR, have joined forces to use art as a powerful tool to unveil and talk about one of the major problems Georgian society faces currently. The exhibition named HEADACHE will showcase the collaboration of these two persons and stress some of the important issues in a
creative way. The exposition will be hosted by Home Gallery, Betlemi Street #13.

Gagosh, is a street artist whose creative murals conveying certain messages can be seen in the city. Yet besides his passion towards art, Giorgi is an IT specialist and works in the Public Service Development Agency.

Lasha Babuadze, who creates stencils under the pseudonym AFOUR, has earned recognition by breathing new life into the Hip Hop culture in Georgia. He regularly holds Hip Hop parties and delivers quality music to the audience through his unique vinyl collection at Dive Fabrika. Strange as it may sound, during the daytime he works as a preschool teacher at Newton School in Tbilisi.

As the persons behind the idea say, they present their vision of the country, where we live and face everyday problems that sum up and transform into a headache.

“We don’t reject and escape this reality; on the contrary, we stress the difficulties and problems that have been caused due to our carelessness. We understand that it is impossible to solve all the social and economic issues instantly. We don’t provide the way out or medicine to cure the headache, but we aim to admit its existence and make right diagnosis”, - Authors of the exhibition say.

Around 15 artworks of different sizes performed with mixed technique will be presented at the exhibition. The guests will be able to purchase the artworks as well. Joint exhibition HEADACHE will be opened on May 19th at 6 pm and last till May 31, 12 am.

Don’t miss out this extraordinary collaboration and let’s open our eyes wide shut.
