Georgia an honorable host in world’s wine capital Bordeaux
Exhibition Georgia – The Cradle of Wine was opened on July 31 at the “Cité des Civilisations Du Vin” (City of Wine Civilizations) in Bordeaux, France. The exhibition will last for 4 months and will be closed in November.

As a reminder, France’s city of Bordeaux declared 2017 as the year of Georgia, since the country is famous for its ancient winemaking culture counting over 8000 years under its belt.

According to the city administration, the decision was made due to the fact Georgia is not only the winemaking country, but also has ancient winemaking traditions.

As the organizers of the exhibition noted, Georgia is the first invited country, which opened the cycle of viticulture and winemaking exhibitions at “Center of Wine Civilization”. Additionally Georgia is the honorable host of the Wine Civilization Museum. According to them, it is very important event for Georgia, because this is one more chance and opportunity for the country to present itself as an ancient country of wine civilization and the essential part of European culture. It is a perfect opportunity for the country to show itself from different perspectives such as culture, history and economy.
