BBC publishes a movie trailer featuring famous Georgian actor
BBC has released a new trailer of TV series McMafia, featuring famous Georgian actor Merab Ninidze. Georgian actor Merab Ninidze will play the main character in the new BBC TV series McMafia, which will appear on the screen at the end of 2017.

There are four main characters in the TV series and Ninidze is one of them.

tory of the TV series is about the global mafia. Russian family mafia member, who was raised in England, is trying to start his own business and escape his past.

However, the tragic accident still pushes him back to the criminal world. He is forced to go back to the criminal world and protect his loved ones.

Merab Ninidze was born on November 3, 1965 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is well-recognized actor both in Georgia and abroad. He is best known for the movies Nowhere in Africa (2001), Bumazhnyy soldat (2008) and Bridge of Spies (2015).

In Georgia, Ninidze is best known for his role in 1984 drama film Repentance.

Repentance (Georgian: Monanieba) is a Georgian film directed by iconic Georgian director Tengiz Abuladze. The movie was made in 1984, but its release was banned in the Soviet Union for its allegorical criticism of the Soviet regime.

In Monanieba, Ninidze played the grandson of the City Mayor, Varlam Aravidze, the antagonist character.

Repentance is the movie against Soviet ideology. When the Mayor, Varlam Aravidze dies one the next day after the funeral his corpse turns up in the garden of his son's house. The corpse is reburied, yet it reappears again in the garden. A woman, Ketevan Barateli is arrested and accused of digging up the corpse. She defends herself and states that Varlam does not deserve to be buried as he supported Stalinim method of rule and terror as well as was responsible for the disappearance of her parents and her friends. The movie reflects a tragic story of the thousands of victims of the Soviet regime.
