Legendary Icelandic musician and singer Björk has recently visited Georgia. She held two solo concerts on October 31 and November 3 within the frames of SOU Festival in Georgia.

Apart from Georgia media outlets and channels Björk’s visit to Georgia has been spotlighted by popular fashion magazine Vogue as well.

According to Vogue, Björk has found time to try the looks
of local designers: during the concert, she wore a fantastic, layered pink floral crown by Georgian artist Irma Sharikadze of the label Irma de Flore, pairing the headgear with a pink blouse and matching trousers by Central Saint Martins graduate Peter Movrin.

As Vogue reports, Georgian designer was very honored and delighted. “I could not have imagined a better muse,” she told Vogue.

Björk’s choice to wear one of Sharikadze’s over-the-top headpieces is quite in character for the singer. After all, she is well-known for her extraordinary costumes and eccentric looks.

It is noteworthy that when leaving Georgia, legendary Icelandic musician took young Georgian artist Nino Paichadze’s artwork with her.

The painting depicts Björk from her video clip for the song Pagan Poetry, which is the second single from the album Vespertine released in 2001.

Person behind the artwork turned out to be a big fan of Björk’s music. After the concert held on November 3 at Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater, Paichadzehanded the painting to the organizers of the SOU festival.

Later, Nino found out that her favorite singer took the painting with her. Georgian artist shared the news on her own Facebook page. “Guys, I have very good news. The organizers of the SOU festival informed me that Björk took the painting with her” – Nino reported on her social network account.

Nino Paichadze is 24-years-old. She is from Tbilisi. She studied artistic woodwork and design at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. Currently, she works as a creative director at Japanese Language & Culture Center.

Björk arrived in Tbilisi on October 28, together with the group of 12 people. During her short time in Georgia, she managed to discover the local culture, cuisine and even became a fan of Georgian polyphony.

It is worth mentioning that the legendary singer has not departed without sampling local cuisine. After her first concert, Björk visited one of the vegan cafes in Tbilisi named Café Leila, where she was captured enjoying traditional Georgian meal lobio , kidney beans cooked in clay pot and served with corn bread.

Before leaving Tbilisi, Bjork once again admitted her love to Georgia and thanked her fans for the warm welcome. This is how she expressed her emotions and gratitude to the Georgian audience:

“can i thank the irresistible habitants of tbilisi ? we had one of our most magical times , spoiled with polyphonic choirs and electronica legends . and drowned with flowers during the best encore greeting ever ? yes. warmth , björk” – Björk wrote on her official Facebook page.
