Unique collection of the textiles at the Art Palace was in a very bad condition. With the Ministry of culture and Sport of Georgia and the private educational fund, Art Palace provided essential conversation and restoration of the textiles. Scientific study took place and historical textiles were survived from destruction. The goal of the project was not only to study the fabrics but also to emphasize their value and significance for the region. A group of artists and scientists worked to recreate clothes of Georgian kings, queens and noblemen based on ancient manuscripts, frescos and miniatures.

The group of the scientific research had been studying royal garments, graphical forms of textiles and fresco paintings on Georgian churches and monasteries. In total more than 400 patterns and 50 historic fabrics were restored.
