The unique archive of the Brothers Zubalashvilis was recently transferred from France to the National Museum of Georgia with the support of TBC
The unique archive of Georgian industrialists and brothers Zubalashvilis was recently transferred to Georgia from France with the support of TBC. The descendants of Petre Zubalashvili, had for 114 years allowed the archive to be held at the National Museum of Zubalashvilis, in Switzerland and later in France.

The archive includes some of Dimitry Ermakov's photos, of Tbilisi, people of the Caucasus and the construction of public buildings and the University; as well as books and albums about the history of
Georgia, the Caucasus Civilization and its Archaeology.

From their personal archive, the history of the Zubalashvilis’ and details of their charitable activities are revealed.

The materials include correspondence by the Zubalashvilis about their financing of the Newspaper "Iveria" and the magazine "Jejili" in Georgian; Also, the list of young people that were educated through their scholarchips in Russia and Europe such as as Aleksandre Janelidze, Sargis Kakabadze, Shalva Amirejibi, Geronti Kikodze, Leo Kikheli, Paul Ingorokva and others.

Within the unique archive and personal collection of Jacob (Zak) Zubalashvilithere is a special publication, which refers to the works of the French museums , and that was distributed free of charge to the French museums.Jacob Zubalashvili spent the second half of his life in France where Jacques Michel was called Zubalova.

His unique collection incorporates the works of Picasso, Degas, Cezanne, Matisse, Monet, Botticelli, Rodin and others, as well as marble, bronze, ceramics, gold and silver artefacts. The main part of this unique collection was located in the Zubalov hall in the Louvre. Zubalashvili’a name is on the Louvre wall, among others, who have made a significant donation to this museum.

The Zubalashvilis name is also known within Industry. They were industrialists and scholars in historical documents from the 1780’s. Zubalashvilis surname is related to the construction of today's public buildings - the current Marjanishvili Theatre the building of the first University ,Tbilisi Conservatoire of Tbilisi Music School,the first paediatric hospital in Tbilisi, the door to the old house and the Kojiri diner - "Matsalalo" was opened. On the outbreak of World War I, PetreZubalashvili handed over to the Tbilisi Board of Trustees "London" 20 thousand rubles for a military laser.

Brothers Zubalashvili's archive arrived in Georgia with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Georgian Airlines.

Official opening of the archive will be held at the National Museum in September, which will be attended by Zubalashvili’s descendants especially invited to Georgia.
