Photo exhibition “Batumi Photo Days" to be held in Batumi
From the 31st of August to the 2nd of September Batumi will host the "Batumi Photo Days". This Festival has been running since 2014 and is known by the International community under the name of “Odessa/Batumi Photo Days”. But 2018 will be the first year when the Festival will be held with a renewed and more comprehensive scope.

The theme of this year’s photo days and also the name of the exhibition is the se@ experience - meaning "See Experience" or
"Sea Experience" .This idea is based on the ability to view things differently and with deep feelings. Here the Sea is a symbol of substance, environment and personal horizon.

The following events will take place during the course of Photo Days:

4 exhibitions : The Principal exhibition in Batumi Boulevard, of Koka Ramishvili (Georgia / Geneva) and Giorgi Neiberidze (Georgia / Berlin), exhibitions in Batumi’s Contemporary Art Space and MADE IN PHOTOS (Poland) exhibition at the Museum of Art of Adjara.

3 night shows: Georgia and the South Caucasus; Eastern Europe; Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Meetings with artists: Giorgi Neiberidze and Koka Ramishvili.

There will be also a photo lab, or photo competition, winners of which will receive support for their own project for 2019. Their own project, will then be exhibited in the modern art space of Batumi. Mentors for the project are: Koka Ramishvili, Giorgi Nebieridze, Natela Grigalashli (Georgia) and Anna Chistozerdova (Belarus).

26 contestants from 14 different countries, including Georgia, Ukraine, Germany, Israel, South Korea, Thailand and others will participate in this year’s main exhibition. This exhibition will be a conceptual photographic image installation designed to create a new platform for the international art community. The exhibition is dedicated to individuals who have influenced or changed history, and those who will continue to create changes in the future. History teaches us that one word or a small image have the potential to cause great change.

The organizers hope to maintain not only the future cooperation of participants but also aims to inspire projects that can later be transformed into artistic or documentary photo projects which can later be exhibited in the modern art space of Batumi. It also hopes to promote a completely new initiative and sector-related cooperation.
