Mikhail Baryshnikov to perform in Georgia
The Latvian born Russian / American ballet dancer and actor Mikhail Baryshnikov has arrived in Georgia. He will give performances on the 14-15-16th of September in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The performances will take place at Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theater. Mikhail Baryshnikov is considered to be one of the best ballet artists of the twentieth century. He was a member of American Ballet Theater and then became its director.

The performances will be solo performances just by Mikhail Baryshnikov.
He will read the poems of Joseph Brodsky. Joseph Brodsky is a Noble Prize winner who is a Russian born American poet. Apart from his current production Brodsky/Baryshnikov directed by Alvis Hermanis, he has toured with Forbidden Christmas, The Doctor and the Patient, Beckett Shorts, In Paris, Man in a Case, The Old Woman and Letter to a Man.

The artist has been awarded with the Kennedy Center Honors, the National Medal of Arts, the Commonwealth Award, the Chubb Fellowship, the Jerome Robbins Award, and the Vilcek Award, etc. As an actor Mikhail Baryshnikov has performed on Broadway, in television and film. He has received a Tony Award nomination and a Drama Desk Award for Metamorphosis, and an Academy Award nomination for The Turning Point.
