Georgian pianist Nicolas Namoradze wins Honens 2018
The Georgian pianist Nicolas Namoradze has become a Honens Prize Laureate. The Honens Piano Competition takes place every three years. It is considered to be one of the world’s most prestigious piano competitions. The annual Honens Festival is one of Canada’s major piano events.

At Honens, the Georgian pianist’s individuality made it clear from the very beginning that he was going to be the leader in the competition. Due to his win, Namoradze will have the opportunity to perform in some
of the world’s leading concert houses. The 26-year old pianist has been awarded 100 000$ and 500 000$ as the Artist Development Program.

Nicolas was born in Tbilisi, Georgia.He was just 2 months old when his family left Georgia for Budapest. He has studied in Budapest, Vienna, Florence and later in the USA at Juilliard school for his master studies with the legendary pianist Emanuel Ax.

Nicolas Namoradze has performed with distinguished orchestras and conductors in the USA and Europe. He also created the soundtracks for Walking Painting, a film by Fabienne Verdier, and Nuit d’opéra à Aix, a short film made in association with the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.
