Charity project COATS to help 369 vulnerable children
The 9th Community Outreach Project COATS 2018 will be hosted by Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel on Sunday, November 18th, 2018 It is already 9 years as the Charity Project COATS (Clothing Others Against The Snow) is being successfully implemented. The number of beneficiaries increased continuously, and we try to attract more participants and supporters of this charity event.

The project COATS was initiated by Michelle Dunn (former BP Georgia General Director’s wife) nine years ago to support homeless and children in
need from NGO “Child and Environment”. Under the project the warm winter clothing was collected and distributed among homeless and street children. The project was successfully implemented and expanded through the following years.

The local and international organizations were joined by number of Tbilisi private schools and currently the schools are the project COATS’s powerful drivers. Starting from 2011 the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel became the official host and generous supporter of this charity event.

So far we have 14 Tbilisi schools (11 private and 3 public), who are collecting and donating for the project COATS: Guivy Zaldastanishvili American Academy in Tbilisi (GZAAT), The QSI International School, The British-Georgian Academy (BGA), The British International School of Tbilisi (BIST), The St. George’s British-Georgian School (BGS), The European School, The New School, The French School of the Caucasus (EFC), The Robert Schuman European School, The Deutsche Internationale Schuhle, school “Jejili”, #1 Experimental, #53 and 21 Public Schools.

Among continuous supporters of the Project are the Radisson Blu Iveria Hotel, the BP Georgia, the International Women Association (IWA), the Open Society - Georgia Foundation (OSGF), the US Embassy in Tbilisi, the International transportation company “Gosselin Mobility Group-Georgia”, the East Point, the Millennium Challenge Account - Georgia, the G.Tavartkiladze University, Ltd “G&T Service”, and some private individuals. This year the telecommunication company “SilkNet” has joined the project and is actively helping the COATS with clothing collection.

The winter clothing and other staff, like school supplies collected and donated by schools, organizations and private individuals will be distributed among vulnerable children between 4 to 17 years old. This year the COATS 2018 will host 369 children in need from shelters of the NGO “Child and Environment”, “The Salvation Army” and the “American Friends of Georgia”. Beneficiary children will come to Radisson from 12 shelters located in Rustavi, Lagodekhi, Chiatura, Dzegvi, Nikoizi, Norio and Tbilsi.

We do believe that this Charity Event will help to keep many little bodies warm through this winter and it is our sincere hope together we will make a little difference in lives of those, who really need our help!

We are looking forward to a successful COATS 2018!
