Georgian painter Tekla Meladze is a founder of a new trend in Art
An 18-year-old Georgian painter Tekla Meladze has launched a new trend in art. Tekla uses only gold color to create her paintings. At first, she started to create her paintings only with gold, precious metal. Later, Tekla moved on larger canvases and started to apply only gold color on them. Thus, she created a new trend in art referred to as Monotone Art.

Tekla Meladze started painting at the age of 13. She was particularly inspired by the Georgian painters Jemal
and Giorgi Kukhalashvili. It was in Paris when she first saw the Kukhalashvilis’ paintings on display in Montmartre. After observing their workshop for 10 days, Tekla realized she wanted to paint.

The supporter of the young talent was a famous Georgian painter Zurab Nizharadze. Nizharadze was impressed with her paintings and encouraged Tekla to pursue her dreams in art. Because of his support, the young painter put all her energy into painting and in just a few months, her personal exhibition was held in New York, the US.
