“Sighnaghi is quite similar to a Spanish city” – Buba Kikabidze
“I have traveled around the world and have seen many places, but I have never felt as good as [I feel] in Tbilisi”.
“It is impossible to speak separately about all the cities; Georgia, as an entire country, is strange and extraordinary. Of course tourists are eager to explore this country, though a native can also discover new things every minute,” Buba Kikabidze, the famous post-soviet actor and a singer, explains.

It’s difficult to compare Tbilisi to other cities. It’s
unique because the residents themselves are different from others. I distinguish old Tbilisi, Maidan from other sites… There is a different flavor in the air, especially in autumn. There is only one thing that hurts me: I don’t like tall buildings in Tbilisi, and when I see the construction, it affects me. The main charms of old Tbilisi are its two or three floor buildings with balconies. Tbilisi is unusual. It does not look like any other city because it has overcome so many things and it has a rich historical past. You would not find such warmth [elsewhere] that you can find here - that is why so many people visit our country.

– Has anyone stayed?

– There were some cases when guests bought a house and moved to Tbilisi. Some of them settled in Kakheti and began growing grapes… Frankly speaking, I’m not surprised that people are moving here. I have visited many places, but I have never felt the way that I feel in Tbilisi.

– Which part of Georgia is your favorite?

– I love Kakheti endlessly: Telavi, Kvareli, Signani… By the way, Sighnaghi is quite similar to a Spanish city…

Batumi is incredible. Also Kutaisi is very beautiful… It is impossible to speak separately about all the cities; Georgia, as an entire country, is strange and extraordinary. Of course tourists are eager to explore this country, though a native may also discover new things each minute.
I often have foreign guests, and those who have been here, even once, always remember it for the rest of their lives. They are especially impressed with the hospitality of the Georgian people and cuisine. Many of them even say that they would like to stay and live here forever.
