“Who Can Be Compared to Your Beauty, Georgian Woman?”
02 May, 2015
“Who Can Be Compared to Your Beauty, Georgian Woman?”
“Who can be compared to your beauty, Georgian Woman?” asked Alexander Pushkin, the prominent Russian poet.

We yet again draw our readers’ attention to the most outstanding and charming Georgian actresses.

Sofiko Chiaureli

“Sofiko Chiaureli, an outstanding Georgian actress, was extraordinary and brimming with joy, like a living rainbow. Her personality was comprised of an incredible sense of humor, kindness, fantastic individualism and friendliness. Wherever she went, she always brought a festive and creative atmosphere to the people around her,”
wrote director Vsevolod Shilovsky about Sofiko.

Elene Kipshidze

Elene was born on February 5th, 1925. She was fond of ballet since childhood, but ultimately became an actress.

“She proved wrong the notion of only movie stars being able to become popular and the road to fame being closed to theater performers.
She has played just a few episodic roles, yet they yielded her popularity that many movie actors couldn’t even dream of. People were so attracted to her that they went to the theater only for the sake of seeing her perform.

The public was extremely interested in her private life as well. Making up myths about her was a favorite pastime. Even after her adoration-filled life came to an end, the legend still remained,” writes Rezo Shatakishvili in his article, “The legend of Lena.”

Bela Mirianashvili

The entire country knows the beautiful love story of actress Bela Mirianashvili and Kakhi Kavsadze, another legendary Georgian actor.

“I admired Bela and dedicated my entire life to her, yet I cannot say that my love to her was exceptional. Many people loved each other in the same way, but our feelings were more visible to society because we both were actors,” said Kakhi Kavsadze.

Veriko Anjaparidze

Veriko Anjaparidze was an actress of tragedy and drama. The tragic and dramatic roles she performed stood out with great lyricism and sincerity.

Anjaparidze possessed amazing scenic charm and refinement, melodic voice, high professionalism, good taste, deep intellect and masterful performing skills.
