Georgia’s top 13 resorts for budget travelers
Summer is the most popular season for vacations in Georgia. The locals are trying to relax during this season after a full-year work and studying process. That is why summer resort prices are especially high. Most of these are popular sea resorts - Batumi, Kobuleti and Gonio. Bakuriani and Borjomi occupy the top places among the mountain resorts. As a result, the services and products in these resorts rise up in summer.

However, there are some resorts that are less crowded
and relatively inexpensive. Allnews.ge offers a small list:

Shovi and Utsera

Shovi and Utsera are located in Upper Racha region, Oni District. They are clean and quiet. Besides, the resorts are very cool in the evening hours. That means these are the best places for tourists to get out of the city heat.

In Shovi and Utsera you can relax in family type hotels, where one night’s price is 40 GEL with three meals a day.

There are no noise activities at resorts, so if you want to spend your holiday peacefully in fresh air, together with your children, you should definitely visit Racha.

Mestia

Mestia is an attractive place for tourists as well as for locals. Beside the city, tourists also visit villages near Mestia, where famous Svanetian towers are located.

Mestia and Svaneti in general are characterized with fresh air and beautiful nature. In Mestia a hotel costs about 50 GEL with three meals a day.

Tsagveri

Tsagveri is located in Borjomi municipality, which is distinguished by clean air. In the summer, the holidaymakers often visit the village because it is one of the best places for summer holidays. You can rent an apartment in Tsagveri for about 20 GEL (meals not included).

Akhtala

Akhtala is a renowned resort where many visitors come to visit and rehabilitate in the famous mud baths. Compared to other resorts, it is not located away from the capital: It takes a maximum of one hour to travel from Tbilisi. This famous resort of Gurjaani district is actively used for the treatment of arthritis.

As for housing, apartment renting starts from 20 GEL per night, if you want to have a holiday in the hotel, you can hire a room from 100 GEL in Gurjaani.

Surami

Surami is usually visited in May-July during the time when the resort boasts with especially clean and healthy air. Children with weak immunity are often brought to Surami for treatment.

The resort is located in Khashuri municipality and its popularity does not decrease after the expiration the above-mentioned period. A room can be rented from 15 GEL. As a rule, housing prices increase according to requirements.

Bakhmaro

Bakhmaro is a high mountainous resort in a western region of Guria, located in Chokhatauri municipality. Accommodation prices start from 15-20 GEL. As many holidaymakers say in the social networks, Bakhmaro boasts a beautiful nature, healthy atmosphere and fresh air. Visitors visit the place mainly due to coniferous plants.

Nunisi

If you decide to rest in Imereti region, you should definitely visit Nunisi. The village is located at the elevation of 920 meters above sea level and is characterized by clean air and healthy surroundings. In addition, Nunisi River flows by.

Tskaltubo

There are sanatoriums and astrophysical observatory here, which makes the place of a great interest to holidaymakers. Based on internet sites, housing rental in Abastumani starts from 10 GEL, and the price of the hotel is 80 GEL.

Tskisikhidziri

If you want to travel to the sea, then Tskisikhidziri is definitely the most affordable resort. This village is located in Kobuleti municipality of Adjara region, where the price of an apartment starts from about 20-25 GEL. As for hotels, the prices start from 50 GEL and increases according to the conditions.

The holidays in Tsikhisdziri have become popular recently because visitors are attracted by clean water and beautiful views.

Chakvi

Chakvi is a borough in Kobuleti municipality, which is actively hosting tourists each summer. Prices in Chakvi start from 15 GEL and hotels from 35 GEL.

Holidays in this seaside resort became popular especially after the high class hotel was built and tourists started to visit Chakvi.

Beshumi

Apart from the sea resorts of Adjara, there is also a beautiful mountainous Beshumi, which hosts the holidaymakers annually. Beshumi is located in the Khulo municipality and therefore, tourists can visit the mountain resort in a short period of time. In August, the air temperature in Beshumi is 17 degrees, and therefore very cool.

Special cottages are constructed in Beshumi for tourists, which cost from 25 lari and include three meals.
