Georgia ranked 5th place as wine country among best destinations around the world
Lonely Planet, the largest travel guide book publisher, recommends the best cities around world to travel. new publication The Cities Book advices top cities to visit for a particular reason. Each city on the list is distinguished with some special trademark which makes it unique place to travel.

Lonely Planet’s bestselling The Cities Book features 200 of the world’s most exciting urban destinations among which Georgia comes in the fifth place as the home to the best wine. Georgia is
not only the country with the earliest record of winemaking(8000 years), moreover it is home to unique wine-making traditions and techniques as well as of grape-varieties unknown tothe rest of the world.

Georgia is home to one of the oldest winemaking traditions known to mankind. Winemaking tools, grape pits and earthenware vessels (Kvevri) have been excavated in the valley of Alazani (Kakheti), which date back more than 4000 years.

In the list Tbilisi occupies the 5th position, as long as travel experts of Lonely Planet say wine-making is at the heart of this beautiful city.
