Georgian dishes

Georgian cuisine includes dishes for everyone including vegetarians, non-vegetarians and vegans. The Georgian people are very welcoming to tourists. They will help you navigate the city and find places
you are particularly looking for. Dishes at restaurants are prepared and cooked usually with fresh local ingredients.

Visiting the houses of locals, or the markets and meeting with local people are the best ways to get a feel for Georgian culture. Wine lovers have the chance to taste wines with a different appearance colourwise from orange, amber to the usual white and red ones. There is a wide range of restaurants and cafes in Tbilisi for any food or wine lover. Some of them are located on the hills overlooking Tbilisi. Georgian traditional food is focused on vegetables, cheese, butter and bread.

“Khachapuri – a delicious Georgian bread pastry with butter and egg – and Khingali Georgian dumplings, which resemble Chinese dumplings and are filled with minced meat, garlic and other spices.” – says the author of the article.
