One of the most gifted Georgian photographers Giorgi Shermazanashvili (Shermazana) captured Bateti Lake in two different seasons of year.
Bateti Lake is one of the smallest yet the most beautiful lakes throughout the country. It is located in Kareli Municipality, Georgia’s Shida Kartli Region, at 1313 meters above sea level. The place is ideal to feel all colors of the seasons and the real beauty of Georgia’s nature.

The small lake is located on the
mountain plateau surrounded by mixed forests. The water area of the lake is only 0.02 m². Its deepest point is 12 meters. The water is transparent and fresh. The lake is covered with ice from December to March. Bateti Lake is a popular destination for weekend getaways. Camping is possible during summer and early autumn.

Giorgi Shermazanashvili takes photos of the beautiful Georgian landscapes. Despite the fact that the country is small, he thinks Georgia abounds with breathtaking places. He has never taken any courses in photographing. Giorgi believes photographing is not something to be studied through courses. It is only technical features of a camera to be learned on the internet or in guidebooks and manuals. Only photographers can teach themselves how to take photos - they are to observe and discover nuances of nature on their own.

He loves to employ drone or unmanned aerial vehicle for capturing moments from high above. Giorgi prefers colorful photos to the black-and-white ones.
