Aladasturi – wine gifted from the god
Aladasturi is a Georgian vine species originated from Guria (western part of Georgia). It can also be found in other parts of the western part of Georgia such as Imereti, Samegrelo and mountainous Adjara.
aldasturi
Aladasturi is a famous vine species quoted in Georgian folklore and literature. You often come across the vine species in a number of Georgian poems, novel, songs, proverbs or sayings. It comes as a surprise that Aldasturi is a very popular vine species for literature while the
production of the vine is not very impressive compared to other Georgian species of vine.

The name Aldasturi comes from the Arabic words “Allah Dastoor” meaning the permission of Allah. Word has it that when the Arabian invasion took place in Georgia, Arabians fell in love with the wine. Despite the religious restrictions, they drank the wine under the pretext of having the permission from the god.
fruits
Since there can be found only a few vineyards of Aldasturi in the only western part of Georgia, not many wine companies produce the wine. It is recommended to taste the wine accompanied with fruits.
