Bringing the history of Tbilisi to life by Nika Bedenashvili
06 December, 2018
Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia has been changing over the years. It has a long-standing history dating back to the 5th century AD. Comparing old and contemporary pictures of Tbilisi, it is clear that the city used to be more eco-friendly in the past. The old images reflect some of the sculptures and trams that can no longer be found in the capital.

Inserting historical photos of Tbilisi into their contemporary settings creates a possibility of time travel, strolling along the old streets and observing the changes that have taken place in the capital throughout the years. The young photographer plans to organize an exhibition of his photos next year. He promises to continue with his project taking more and more photos of Tbilisi for Georgians as well as foreigners.
