Georgia preserves the oldest settlements of an outstanding culture of Mtkvari-Araksi people, the distant ancestors of Georgians. Their Culture was formed in the South Caucasus in the early Bronze Age (700-400 BC). The river Araksi runs along Turkey, Armenia, and Georgia, while Mtkvari River covers the three countries as well as Azerbaijan and Iran. The folks are believed to live on the surrounding territories of the countries.
