Newsweek: Georgia is Europe’s New Cultural Hub
“The former Soviet Republic of Georgia is the hot new place for travelers in the know,” reads the article about Georgia published by Newsweek.
Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia

Newsweek, an American weekly magazine has recently published an article presenting Georgia as Europe’s New Cultural Hub. The article reads that not only popular Georgian cities like Batumi and Tbilisi but also lesser-known places in the country should be on a traveler’s 2019 destinations list. The author, George Wayne offers travelers to
visit Tsinandali, the cradle of viticulture.

''Georgia is the only country in the world where winemaking methods developed 8,000 years ago have not only never been abandoned but remain, in many ways, the world's best.''
Georgian National Dances

The first destination in Georgia is recommended to be the capital Tbilisi. Tbilisi is full of history – its cobblestoned streets and the medieval churches have amazed travelers for years. Tbilisi referred to as “the next Berlin” promises great parties and night raves accompanied with the Georgian grape brandy Chacha. Looking over Tbilisi from the Narikala Fortress as well as visiting Abanotubani, sulphuric bathhouses are the must-experience things in the capital.

As for Tsinandali, one must observe the Tsinandali Palace here. The palace belonged to the 19th-century poet and military figure Alexander Chavchavadze. The Palace (which included a historic winery) used to be the estate of the nobleman. The house is surrounded by a beautiful, well-maintained garden while the palace itself serves as a museum about the Chavchavadze family.
Tsinandali Palace in Kakheti

“Mix in atypical Kakhetian (Tsinandali is located in Kakheti, Georgia’s eastern region) architecture, restored Italianate villa and guest houses, the just opened boutique Radisson Collection hotel, state-of-the-art concert halls and at one-of-a-kind amphitheater with a retractable roof.”
