"There was a "ME" before Georgia and another one after."-Foreigners about Georgia
"We've never seen people describing their country with as much passion and excitement as you two are doing it. What a great thing to do!" - I and my friend were told at a gathering while telling the stories of our country to people from different nations. To tell the truth, that is a very precise and accurate description of every Georgian as we want you to see that our country is a place you really have to visit at least
once in your life and feel the hospitality Georgia is famous for.
We can let you in our houses if you are lost somewhere in the middle of the unknown village and make you feel at home and we can become friends just in one day so that you will not feel lonely. What is more important, we have a genuine desire to help you and support you if you need it.
Writing about your country is fine but when foreigners agree, it is another thing. That is why the Georgian Journal decided to ask the people who have lived in Georgia, to talk about their experiences.

"Gamarjoba, I am from France and I have worked in Georgia in Summer 2018. Georgia was not the first country I have visited, but the first one I decided to come back. I think there was a "ME" before Georgia and another one after. I have always known I was not at ease with my own society, but I could not point out the reason why. In Georgia, I figured it out.  Quite easy access to money and materialism had blown my mind. I had forgotten the pleasure of simplicity and authenticity. Here you do not have to be afraid of who you are and you are not afraid to be friendly. Maybe I could have figured it out somewhere else too, but the result is that Georgia has definitely changed my relationship with others. Above all, visiting Georgia was a great human experience. I wish Georgia will keep its spirit. For sure, there are good things to take from the Western European systems, but I am sure Georgia will create its own path. What is most attractive about Georgia today is its identity. I would like to mention that Georgia also changed my way to consume. I have never bought so many fruits and vegetables. In our Western societies, you hardly find "true" vegetables and fruits. They all look the same and often tasteless. In Georgia even if you do not have time to go to local markets, you find fresh and natural products in almost every neighborhood. No doubt that Georgia was a crush for my heart and my stomach. A country with bread, wine, and cheese, how could it be different for a Frenchman?"

"Georgia is an incredible country. When I first traveled there, the first thing that I said to myself was "I will come back here, for sure" and I came back. I visited Georgia three times after I first have been there. It is a wonderful place with a unique language, breathtaking nature, awesome culture, amazing food, and kind-hearted people. I made a lot of friends in Georgia and I feel like I am at home when I am with them. They will care about you and will do everything they can to support you. Moreover, I want to say that I really love Georgian national cuisine. I do not know what is the secret, but once you try it, you will never forget about it. You will admire Georgian nature. It looks like it has never been touched by any human. What is more important, Georgian language is ancient and that is why it is so unique. Learning Georgian was hard for me because it was hard for me to pronounce some of the letters. I could talk about Georgia for ages but it would be better if you would travel there and experience everything by yourself. "

"I have been twice in Georgia. I took the train to come to Tbilisi. To be honest the first impression was contemptuous. Because of the abandoned constructions near the train station, I imagined Tbilisi to be a depressive city. But once you really get to know Tbilisi, it introduces itself to you. I was wandering around Tbilisi with my Georgian friends and this city is not like others. It is a feeling of harmony and it gets deeper every time. Georgian people made the city's vibe colorful with their sweet and kind hearts. People there showed me how to live in peace with all I had. They showed me what real love was and how it affects our lives. Some people say that Paris is the city of love, but for me it is Tbilisi. I always tell to my friends- "If you really want to know what life is, try some Georgian food and you will see." Georgia will always have a big place in my heart because that is the country, which makes you alive again."

"At first Georgia was a random choice I made to travel in a country I never expected to visit. Then it turned out in a one-of-a-kind experience, a new world where I met dear friends, tasted fantastic food and learned about the interesting history. A second home. Yes, that is what I think of when the word Georgia comes to my mind: a place far away from Mexico, my country, and yet at the same time, the country where I can feel at ease and at peace. Georgian people, music and the warm welcome is something you can not experience in many places. I love Georgia because not only is it a place you can visit and discover but also where your heart and soul are going to stay forever."
