Writing Craze on WWW

The Internet era is the time of unprecedented development of an epistolary genre all over the world, called blogging, texting, messaging, etc. Who would have imagined a couple of decades ago that one of the most enticing pastimes for a human being would be writing. Just writing! People all over the Globe have hysterically gone for scribbling up various-size-and-content pieces on any unlikely topic and unceremoniously putting them on the web for millions to read.

Then those millions react to the

scribbled gibberish, also in black-and-white — or in any other color, LOL — turning millions into tens of millions, inundating the Internet space to the brim. The Internet-age-cultivated trend of frantic writing on the web is a huge time and energy consumer. There must be no statistical data out there that I know of, but my most uneducated suspicion is forcefully prompting me that the entire time of the mankind spent on the funny job of frenzied writing must make trillions of hours in aggregate figure, including over-the-phone-texting and messaging on top of blogging. Why are we doing this to ourselves? Who needs this writing craze? In answer to this question, there should be tons of presumptions on myriad various levels of thinking, but one of the answers I might be able to provide for is that the mankind does not seem to be busying itself very diligently with more exigent business than senseless round-a-clock writing on the web. We have a considerable chance of improving human life on the Earth or taking better care of our Mother-Nature to guarantee the survival of human race on the Planet provided we budget our time with more care and efficiency. Most of us certainly think that the Internet is the best ever invention throughout history of civilization. It could be as such, no doubt!  But the Internet has also turned out to be a huge time waster and the venue of such human activities without which we could easily survive. My problem is the irrational consumption of our time by the Internet where the writing of no consequence has proliferated without any reasonable boundaries. And the waste of time doubles and triples because one party is writing the garbage and the other party is reading and answering it, repeating the cycle several times. The chance is that the stupid process never stops, but I still insist that the mankind be reminded of the value of the brief life-time given us by the Creator for knowing better that the means should rather justify the end than the other way round. Let us for a brief instance imagine what a considerable part of the precious human life is being spent over the Internet, sitting in front of the mind-numbing screen, and let us think well how many good things we could do instead, or at least partially ‘instead’. Before the Internet was into our life so intensely a couple of decades ago, my concern was the time spent by us on the red lights in the traffic which now seems to be peanuts in comparison with what we are doing with our time in the cyber-era of the dream-come-true magic mirrors. Time is probably the most valuable thing we possess only after our health, and I am strongly convinced that it needs our utmost attention not to let it be wasted. This feels painfully demanding as soon as you step over your sixty when every minute of your life-time counts badly. Do we really think that we will always remain as young and good as we are today?
