Why do they kill?

Why do they kill?
I hate to sound trivial when commenting on the mid-December of 2012 Newtown, CT tragedy of the United States – the national American misfortune, the world disaster. I don’t think I can manage to sound wise and compassionate enough here even if I try real hard. All the tears have been shed, all the indignation has sounded, all the words have been spent, and all the comments have been made.
What would now be the value of a regular earthling’s
commentary in a capacity of a doctor after death!
I still want to say something even if my word sounds like a voice in the wilderness and nothing more effective. As frustrating as it is to recognize, man wants to continue with killing even though the mankind is well into the 21st century of reason, technological boom, explicit signs of prosperity, and rationality in just about every possible walk of life. Seems like man cannot desist from being thirsty of blood, man wants to kill, man wants to ruin another man. Nothing has changed since the frightening barbarian times. Religions have had such a minor effect on our distorted souls! Those funny indoctrinations are so feeble and flimsy! Goodness and decency have failed. Man just wants to kill. Period! Why do they kill? Good question! Perennially unanswered question! Intimidating question! Excruciating question! The question that needs to be provided with an instantaneous answer! Ladies and gentlemen of psychoanalysis, what is the matter? Why is the world stinking so abominably? I could try to find the answer to the above pugnacious question but I am afraid that anything I utter will definitely be dwarfed against the professional interpretations of the catastrophe in question, scattered around in books and articles and blogs and brief everyday comments. Mine is not a scientific response. Mine is an emotional reaction to what has just happened to the mankind. Yes, to the mankind! This is not just about America although it was a small American community that suffered so bitterly, not known to the world other than via this latest calamity. Somebody out there — who cares whether he was a man of regular psyche or another wacko — stood up in the morning on the wrong side of his damned bed and exterminated a bunch of kids and other good people having injected into their innocent bodies several bullets on end. Pointblank! Gleefully! Cold-bloodedly! Brazenly! Unabashed! He just wanted to kill somebody that morning, including his own mother. Bad news is that he has committed suicide on the spot, undelayed. Suicide does not help in cases like this one. Suicide will probably taste like a piece of cake after an atrociously murderous escapade of this sort. The son of a gun is happily asleep now so that we don’t even have a habeas corpus to at least enjoy a little pleasure of revenge and to let the wretched psychiatry experiment with the case for certain conclusions to be used in the future. God forbid the future contains the same kind of damnation for us the humans, but as it seems post-mortally, the world has to be ready with its sophisticated advanced parapsychology and many other tools to better handle the situation by finding the ways of inevitable prevention of carnages like that. Not otherwise!
