Organic what?

Organic what?
I love America but I will never say I know it well. To perceive America, you want to listen in carefully, and meticulously analyze what you hear. Otherwise, you will find it unfeasible to comprehend its width and length. Sometimes, a minor detail, a little inconspicuous nuance might give a good reason for a brief but inquisitive meditation. Take a trendy word ‘organic’ for instance, which has become so verily universal and ubiquitous in the States that you hear it all
over the place. On top of a definitely agreeable intention to take care of our health, the word is expressly fed to us with a strong commercial intention. ‘Organic’ has turned into a synonym of useful food and salubrious life style, which is more expensive than any ‘inorganic’ living. The other day, my wife called me from USA and told me with a mixture of sudden revelation and righteous annoyance in her voice that food markets have simply gone crazy about dividing the nourishment stuff into organic and inorganic, in other words – more expensive and less costly, highly qualitative and not so satisfying, rather eye-catching and not so attractive. My poor girl! The teaser is so depressing that she no longer wants to make her occasional trips to food-stores, so noticeably discerning between organic and inorganic. I can understand her – she would love to buy the classy organic edibles but is compelled to go for something more affordable. As a matter of fact, the American food world is broken up into two contrasting realms – organic and inorganic. There are organic vegetables, organic fruits, organic nuts, organic dairies, organic meat and organic water? Oh, I forgot the organic dry-cleaning and organic gasoline. Human thoughts could also be made organic by the way. How about organic air? Would it not be healthier to breathe it in for a change? Or organic toilet paper! Wow, organic toilet paper could really do a good job on our over-polluted wretched bodies. This might even save us a visit to hospital for a regular colon checkup. Same about our faithful companion, called tissue! Tissue has to be organic if you want to prolong your healthy existence because when you are blowing your nose into it, you might as well inhale the air via the tissue which, if organic, could save your lungs from the perilous contamination. Millions of female lives could be saved if those indispensable sanitary napkins were also organic. And condoms of course – beware of them being not organic! And the straws for sipping the fluids from a glass! I think both the straws and the glass have to be organic for maximum match in favor of a preoccupied customer. The pottery of natural clay and special terracotta would work here better – there is nothing more organic than those healthy substances that can make our eating habits safer. Forget about organic food and organic utensils for a second! Democracy! Organic democracy – this is what America needs today and every nation who is trying to look up to America. Organic democracy could really save the day for all of us. Imagine yourself equipped with organic democracy and clad in special organic outfit and going to organic elections to give your organic vote to a future organic president or organic senators and representatives. And when you return home after the organic palling station with an organic feeling of satisfaction because you have made an organic electoral decision in favor of your organic motherland, you will have your organic sex with your organic wife in the bedroom, finished with organic construction material and filled with the fragrance of organic perfumes. And again, in the morning, your organic babies are found sitting around their kitchen table, made of organic wood, in expectation of the organic food, cooked by mom from exclusively organic ingredients. Just fancy how well-prepared the kids will be for their organic education in their organically organized schools where the organically prepared teachers are giving them their organic instructions! Isn’t it wonderful that the American society has gone totally organic? We shall not eat if the food stuff is not organic; we shall not go to church unless they know that communion tablets, bread and wine are organic; we shall not allow ourselves administering the cult unless it is truly organic; we shall not even watch TV if the programs are not organic in view and content. And the parents in this organically obsessed society will not buy the colorful lollipops to their children unless they are confident that those sucking candies are hundred percent organic. I am sure we have never paid attention before how organically passionate and fixated our beloved America is. The word ‘organic’ has truly become a key word here, going between us the people and the part of the American society that feeds us the organic substance. On the other hand, it is only America that can afford using so much organic matter. Does America really care that much about food and stuff being organic or inorganic? I just wonder whether Thomas Jefferson would classify his Declaration of Independence as organic or inorganic. And finally, how do we know if the stuff is really organic or not? Come on, you just believe it like you believe that there is God out there and you are not asking any stupid questions whether He is or not.
