Isn’t something wrong with us?

Isn’t something wrong with us?

Some people have described the world as round; some call it flat, and some of us think it is both round and flat. In my individual mind’s eye, it does not really matter whether it is round or flat, triangular or square, oblique or elliptical.

What matters to me is that the world today seems to be endlessly chaotic, stupidly disorganized and hopelessly mishandled. The awareness of global preferences is simply at nadir currently. Man has never known, and continues to

be ignorant of most significant priorities in terms of reasonable treatment of human life, environment and the ways to tackle the problems of survival. I can understand that for thousands of years the best tool for getting it straight was a war. Man usually applied a killing mode to settle the arguments. We simply did not know better for quite a while. How come that in the era of logic and reason, when we are all united in one global communication web, giving us a chance to resolve an occurring conflict instantaneously through sensible discussions and negotiations, there still are tens of blazing hot spots around the Earth waiting for our diplomatic fire-extinguishers? Why can’t we learn once and for all that violence does not pay? What makes us so unintelligent that we still give a preference to bloodshed and tears in order for us to achieve the desirable? Is something wrong with us the humans? Just in a couple of month’s time the entire Arab world has been turned upside down in quest of truth and justice. Why can’t the truth and justice be sought for without so many deaths around? (Please don’t call me a naive pacifist! Please!). Why do those who happen to be the heads of their nations can’t understand that they don’t simply need the amount of wealth they have been trying to accumulate in years of their rule? Don’t they know better than me that their coming to power was just an accident? All of them, just all of them throughout history have used the attendant favorable circumstances to achieve what they have managed to achieve, including even that most famously conceited sunny son of a gun Luis XIV (let the diseased monarch’s sinful soul forgive my French). Why do current (and former too) Russian rulers need the territories of that tiny little Georgia? What are they going to do with them? Why should Americans be given a heads-up from going to Mexico or any other goddamn place in the world? Why are we creating monsters all the time, like Chernobyl and Fukushima? There is something utterly intolerable in that long-tolerated human style and behavior. Are we ever going to learn what’s wrong and what’s right?  Somebody from ‘upstairs’ is going to tell us real soon that enough is enough. Should we not be afraid of this? Just have a brief look at the CNN headlines today and you will understand how much trouble the world is in right now, and all that is being wrought by us the humans around the Globe. There is definitely something weird going on with us, folks! Big time!
