Elegant lamb-shaped cake - A perfect addition to Easter feast
03 April, 2015
Easter is one of the most beloved celebrations, when everyone is busy buying Easter cakes (Paska) or coloring and decorating eggs.Sometimes, doing the same old thing isn’t very interesting.

So in order to make the feast more unique and beautiful, last year I decided to bake a lamb-shaped Easter cake. It both served as a beautiful decoration to the table and tasted delicious. Here is my personal recipe that is very easy and not very time consuming.

The main thing
you need is a lamb-shaped baking pan that can be purchased at any supermarket, and a good mood, of course.

3 ggs
Sugar 150 g
Flour 175 g
Butter 150 g
2 tbsp sour cream
1 tbsp baking powder
1 vanilla
Pinch of salt

Mix softened butter (at room temperature) and sugar with a mixer until you get a cream-like texture.
Add egg yolks and keep on mixing. Add sour cream, vanilla, and mix again.
Sift flour, gently add it in small amounts to the mixture and keep on mixing.
Separately beat egg whites with a pinch of salt in a separate clean bowl until stiff.
Finally add egg whites in small portions to the dough and mix with a spoon in a down to up motion.
Apply butter to the form and slightly sprinkle with flour. Spread the dough in the pan and bake at 180 degrees for 40-50 minutes until golden brown.
You can also add lemon zest to the mixture for a stronger flavor.
Finally, cover the body of the lamb with melted white chocolate or simply sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar.
You can also draw the eyes, nose and ears with black melted chocolate.
