Exclusive Interview With Journalist Candace Bushnell
Candace Bushnell is an American author, journalist, and television producer. She began writing for The New York observer in 1993 . Soon she became very famous and in 1996 her first humorous column "Sex and the City" was released. The column was based on her own personal dating experiences and those of her friends. Without a doubt, both the book and the TV-series are famous worldwide.

Recently, Nina Tsipuria, the journalist of Georgian-language weekly newspaper Kviris Palitra interviewed her about the
life she is living now and what is she up to in the future.

1. Firstly, please describe your day, what are you doing during the day, or when you have free time, just one day from Candace’s life.

If I’m in NYC I get up around 6:30/7 and take my dogs to Central Park for a brisk walk for 45 minutes. I see a lot of the same people and dogs every day. It’s very happy, because everyone in New York loves dogs. Then I do exercises in my apartment and try to figure out the day. If I’m going to an event, it means I’ll probably have to get my hair and makeup done, and find something to wear. It’s much more time-consuming than I like, but when I go to events, there is usually a red carpet, and if you live in New York, you don’t want to look bad on the red carpet!
But if I’m lucky, I don’t have to go out. Then I might get up, go to the park, work, have lunch or a meeting and then work some more and probably go to bed at 9:30 and read an actual book. And go to sleep. I don’t drink much anymore. I feel like I have too much to do.

2. I must ask you, Is There Still Sex in the City? What difference is between 1990 years and nowadays? What has changed? And what is the reason?
A lot has changed. People have evolved. Women are more independent and, of course, we have technology. This has made it possible for people to live a much more single life. Women have also become more successful. Fewer and fewer women want to have children.
But one thing hasn’t changed. The Sex and the City years are still a passage for many women. It’s a time before they have a family (if they’re going to have a family) and before their careers become make or break.

3. You wrote a column for the Observer in 1996 about Donald Trump that I found quite prescient. How does that read to you now?
As very prescient. Trump was elected for a lot of different reasons, and having had a couple of brief interactions with him in the 1990’s, I wasn’t surprised he got elected. It’s terrible. Now I’m am sincerely hoping that Bloomberg will somehow get the Democratic nomination because he is the only one who can surefire beat Trump. Bloomberg knows how to beat Trump psychologically.

4. If you had a chance with whom you would like to have a date? I mean Presidents of America, who of them you’ll choose to have a date. (that’s joke of course, please describe why you choose that one)

Are you joking? With the exception of just a few, too many presidents, including Clinton and Kennedy have behaved disgustingly towards women. But that’s just me. I abhor any type of celebrity worship.

5. Bu your opinion, why do women want to be married? And if there is anywhere happy marriage, do you know such couples who live happily ever after? And what’s key of successful marriage?
Marriage is a lifestyle and economic option that’s available to women in order to survive. So, by the way, is prostitution. For a long time, these were basically the only two ways women could accumulate money and property. In other words, they couldn’t just go out there and get an education, then get a job, then get their own apartment and be in charge of their time, sexuality and reproduction.
On the other hand, marriage can be a really good thing, and maybe everyone should be married at least once in their life and at least for two weeks. Because it’s very psychological. And the other thing that’s good about marriage is that married people are more successful – DUH – because there are two of them, and we all know that two people working together is easier than one person doing it all.

6. Will be there Sex and the City 3? Everyone misses it.

I can’t imagine what it would be or what it would be about. Over the years, the characters have become increasingly divorced from reality. “Carrie Bradshaw” ended up in an ad for a beer commercial during the superbowl.

What did Candace Bushnell write in The New York Observer about Donald Trump in 1997

"Mr. Trump always has something in his office. That day, he had black paper coffee cups from CNBC with his picture on them. I was a little bit jealous. I wanted some cups with my picture on them, too. Then Mr. Trump said what he always says to me: “Can-dace, you’ve got the best hair in New York” and then he told some funny stories, the kind that make his handlers a bit nervous but make me laugh. The thing about Mr. Trump is that he’s mischievous and will say whatever he feels like, so that going to his office for half an hour feels like an adventure."
