Tomato-cucumber salad with walnuts - Perfect Georgian appetizer

Tomato cucumber salad with walnut dressing is a traditional Georgian appetizer. The salad is served at all Georgian restaurants and it’s popular with tourists. The salad is made with fresh delicious Georgian tomatoes, cucumbers and greens. A spicy walnut sauce is the main ingredient, which gives the dish its unique flavor.





Ingredients

2 tomatoes
2 small cucumbers
1 scallion or red onion
½ walnuts, ground
1 garlic clove
1 tsp. green chopped pepper
1 tbsp. red wine vinegar
Few springs
of cilantro and red basil
1/3 cup water
Salt

Preparation

Slice tomatoes and cucumbers and place in a salad bowl. In a food processor - ground walnuts, garlic, cilantro, salt, add vinegar and water to thin the paste, then pour over the salad and mix well. To top it off, decorate with scallions and slightly chopped red basil.
